UTN organized in December several events aimed at women students from first to tenth level of the Faculty of Engineering of Applied Sciences – FICA – UTN. With the objectives of spreading the Project to female students of the faculty and visualizing the presence of female teachers in engineering.
On Monday, December 16, 2019, we developed two activities. The first one in the morning and the second in the afternoon. These events were focused on students from first-to-fifth level. The meeting’s agenda was:
- W-STEM project presentation,
- Exposition of the activities carried out throughout the year by the W-STEM FICA group, and student’s invitation to be a member of the group.
- Motivational talk to avoid the dropouts of students from different careers,
- Conference on the personal and institutional branding and
- Academic club and IEEE Student Branch chapters presentation.
On Wednesday, December 18, 2019, we developed two activities. The first one in the morning and the second in the afternoon. These events were focused on students from sixth-to tenth level. The meeting’s agenda was:
- W-STEM project presentation,
- Exposition of the activities carried out throughout the year by the W-STEM FICA group, and student’s invitation to be a member of the group.
- Motivational talk about the process to get the degree.
- Conference on the personal and institutional branding.
- Tips how to write a good CV and
- Research topics presentation of female teachers.
As a result of this event, the female students were motivated and proud to continue their studies in engineering careers, as well as to participate in the clubs and events that take place for greater empowerment of women within the UTN. This event motivated female students of the faculty, with topics based on empowerment, research, professional life, personal and professional brand, to improve strategies and mechanisms of attraction, access and orientation of women.
